We’re excited to be running our Caught on Camera project in the Bunyip State Park again this year! To kick off the monitoring season, you’re invited to a Community Day on Saturday 2 August in Gembrook. Caught on Camera in Bunyip State Park has been a fantastic success over the past two years – our wonderful volunteers have worked hard and ‘captured’ valuable data including important images of species such as the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot.
At the Community Day, we’ll…

  • Listen to a presentation on Bunyip State Park and all we’ve achieved in the Caught on Camera project so far.
  • Newcomers and those wanting a refresher will be trained in setting up motion-sensing cameras, at the first monitoring locations.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch together – we’ll bring the food!

It will be a great chance to meet friends, learn new skills and take a look at some of the amusing, charming and scientifically important images we have collected.

When: Saturday 2 August, 10am-3pm

Where: Gembrook CFA Station and Bunyip State Park. We will meet at Gembrook CFA Station, which is about 1 hrs drive south-east of Melbourne.

Why: Because we love the critters of the Bunyip and this will be a great chance to contribute to research into the impact of fire on our mammals.

Registration:  Book your spot at the Community Day on Eventbrite.
